Apple Claims Celebrities iCloud Accounts were Hacked Due to Weak Passwords

The internet frenzy is still ongoing over Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, and a swath of other celebrities nude photos begin leaked online, and thousands begged the question on how the attack occurred.

While many believed there was a serious vulnerability in iCloud or some form of conspiracy regarding the photos, some claims may be put to rest. In a recent statement, Apple has confirmed the starlets iCloud accounts were hacked due to weak passwords, not a serious vulnerability in the system.

Apple said in their recent statement:

Update to Celebrity Photo Investigation
We wanted to provide an update to our investigation into the theft of photos of certain celebrities. When we learned of the theft, we were outraged and immediately mobilized Apple’s engineers to discover the source. Our customers’ privacy and security are of utmost importance to us. After more than 40 hours of investigation, we have discovered that certain celebrity accounts were compromised by a very targeted attack on user names, passwords and security questions, a practice that has become all too common on the Internet. None of the cases we have investigated has resulted from any breach in any of Apple’s systems including iCloud® or Find my iPhone. We are continuing to work with law enforcement to help identify the criminals involved.

To protect against this type of attack, we advise all users to always use a strong password and enable two-step verification.

While this does seem like a viable excuse, this does not dismiss the fact that one actress, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, caught in the leak stated on Twitter that she deleted the nude photos years ago.

While Apple’s recommendation for two-step verification may help prevent future attacks, the celebrities nude photos were circulating the black market weeks prior to their initial release.

While Apple did not name which of the 101 actresses iCloud accounts were hacked or ripped, there are still a number of other attack vectors that could have helped the hackers get away with the theft.

In Kate Upton’s leaked photos, a DropBox file was found, meaning DropBox may have been the vector for her attack. DropBox has not given any statements regarding the leaks but many questions are left unanswered.

Such as how actresses photos were stolen even though they were deleted years prior. Apple’s iCloud service is said to encrypt data during transmission and when stored. Alongside, synced photos are permanently deleted within thirty days they are removed from synced devices.

Hackers have not released any information on how the attacks were orchestrated, but the attacks appear to be precisely targeted. Speculation reads that attacks were ongoing for over seven months in total, meaning attackers were reaping these personal nude pictures from celebrities for months and not releasing any information. This also accredits hackers claims that they have over 101 actresses nude photos.

The exact methods hackers used to hack the celebrities cloud storage and reap the information is slightly answered, but from actresses claiming pictures were removed and other cloud storage providers begin vector for attack, the story remains questionable.

Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Kaley Cuoco among seven other celebrities have fallen victim in the latest leak of hacked celebrities nude photos.

The list of hacked celebrities nude photos leaked online this Saturday contains Avril Lavigne, Lake Bell, former Disney stars Aly and AJ Michalka, Mary-Kate Olsen, Aubrey Plaza and Hayden Panettiere.

Early Saturday morning alleged nude photos of the starlet celebrities were leaked on 4Chan and instantly trending on Twitter. 4Chan took immediate action removing the photos as part of 4Chan’s new policy regarding copyright infringement.

The most recent leak of nude celebrities photos can likely be given credit to the hackers who initially leaked nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Victoria Justice, Kaley Cuoco, among a number of others. The FBI has said they are already investigating the previous leaks along with the most recent matter.

This is not the first time nude photo of actress Vanessa Hudgens have been leaked online, if the newest photos are confirmed to be her, this will be the third time nude photos of Hudgens have been leaked online without her consent.

Numerous sources have confirmed that representatives for Kim Kardashian have declined to comment, but the popular celebrity weighed in with her thoughts on the previous nude photos leaked last month. “I think it’s a wake-up call for people to make sure they have every privacy setting,” Kardashian told BBC Radio host Nick Grimshaw. “It seems like there are a lot of people that love to spend their time hacking peoples’ information and that’s just a scary thing.”

Representatives for Vanessa Hudgens and other celebrities have denied comments as well.

As 4Chan was swift to remove the celebrities photos, a new subreddit of “The Fappening” has sprung up on reddit housing a number of the stolen photos. The previous subreddit hosting links to the first set of leaked photos was ban from the site due to a number of legal reasons.

The origin for a number of previous hacks was confirmed by Apple, stating celebrities iCloud vaults were hacked due to weak passwords, allowing attackers access to their personal photos.

A number of questions regarding deleted photos and other cloud storage providers have yet to be answered.

Update: Nude photos of actress Countess Vaughn, more well known as Kim Parker have been leaked online. If the Countess Vaughn/Kim Parker leaks are related to the most recent Kim Kardashian leak remains unknown.

‘The Fappening 3′: Nude Photos of Cara Delevingne, Anna Kendrick, and Eight Other Celebs Leaked Online

More nude photos of starlet celebrities have been leaked online by hackers, this time leaking nude photos of actress and supermodel Cara Delevingne, actress Anna Kendrick among eight other well-known celebrities.

On Friday, new celebrity photos were found leaked online on various image boards including 4Chan and a new subreddit dubbed, “The Fappening Three.” The leak appears to be correlated with the ongoing celebrity nude photo leak ring that began back in August, originally leaking nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, supermodel Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco among numerous others.

In the third massive leak of celebrity nude photos appearing Friday, photos include American Olympic gold medalist and volleyball player Misty May Treanor, model Carly Foulkes, TV presenter Brook Burns, Mena Suvari, Alexandra Chando, Lauren O’Neil, Kelli Garner and Briana Evigan were named as alleged victims. The leaked pictures show celebrities posing nude along with numerous photos of them in revealing outfits.

Earlier this week nude photos of Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens, Kaley Cuoco among seven other celebrities were leaked online by unknown hackers.

The sleuth of celebrity photos leaked online was acclaimed to be a result of iCloud. Apple said in a statement that celebrity iCloud vaults were hacked due to weak passwords, not a vulnerability in the service. Due to the large leak of personal photos, Apple added two-factor authentication to prevent future attacks.

After the leak, legal battles went wild, Jennifer Lawrence among other celebrities were said to be working with the FBI to investigate the violation of their privacy. In one statement, Lawrence’s publicist, Liz Mahoney wrote: “This is a flagrant violation of privacy. The authorities have been contacted and will prosecute anyone who posts the stolen photos of Jennifer Lawrence.”

Just one day after the FBI criticized Apple and Google for adding encryption to secure their devices, another large leak of celebrity nude photos appeared online.

An alleged “mega list” of celebrities was leaked back in August, containing names of 101 actresses that hackers claimed to have nude or revealing photos of. A number of actresses, models and others names appearing on the list have had their nude photos leaked, the most recent leak of Anna Kendrick was not named on the list.

Celebrity leaks have been blamed on iCloud, though some people noted celebrity albums to have have come from cloud storage providers. While the possibility of hacked nude celebrity photos begin leaked from different sources may be possible, the never ending privacy breach of high-profile celebrities questions security and privacy of users online data.

Celebrities Hacked in iCloud Naked Photo Leak Threaten to Sue Google for $100 Million

While hackers continue leaking hacked nude celebrity photos, Hollywood lawyer, Marty Singer, has written to the Google founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, along with Chairman Eric Schmidt, threatening to sue Google for $100 million if they don’t remove the personal photos of celebrities leaked online after recent iCloud hacks.

According to news outlet Page Six, Singer represents over a dozen of the celebrities who fell victim to the nude photo leaks that hackers posted online after hacking into a number of Apple iCloud accounts belonging to starlet celebrities.

In the most recent leak of celebrity photos, Amber Heard, Lake Bell, Lizzy Caplan and Gabrielle Union have fallen victim having their personal photos published online. Just a few weeks ago hackers leaked a number of celebrity nude photos starting with Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco and others, then leaked photos of Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Hudgens among seven others appeared online, but it remains unknown which of the woman Singer currently represents.

In Singers letter to Google, he accuses the company of “making millions from the victimization of women” and engaging in “blatantly unethical behavior.”

According to Marty Singer, DMCA takedown requests were sent to Google days after hackers leaked celebrity photos online. According to Singer, the images have yet to be removed from YouTube and Blogger, and Singer is even accusing Google of failing “to act expeditiously, and responsibly to remove the images.”

Google and their team do not choose what the search engine indexes or allows to appear. The system is built on an algorithm that detects what people have published. Meaning the Google system is automated, meanwhile, Singer claims Google is purposely placing celebrity nude photos at the top of the results page to optimize their revenue.

In Singers letter seen by news outlet Page Six, he claims Google is aware that the photos are hosted on websites, but has yet to take any action in removing them.

“Google knows the images are hacked stolen property, private and confidential photos and videos unlawfully obtained and posted by pervert predators who are violating the victims’ privacy rights … Yet Google has taken little or no action to stop these outrageous violations,” Singer wrote in his letter to Google.

Singer’s letter continues to compare Google’s failure to remove hacked nude photos to an NFL incident regarding one of their players:

“Like the NFL, which turned a blind eye while its players assaulted and victimized women and children, Google has turned a blind eye while its sites repeatedly exploit and victimize these women.”

Google has been criticized a number of times since the recent “The Fappening” incident, claiming to fail removing leaked celebrity nude photos. One victim, Kate Upton, had large albums of her personal photos leaked, and Uptons boyfriend, Jason Verlander, sent hundreds of DMCA takedown requests to Google asking the company to remove websites hosting nude photos of Upton from the search engine. According to Torrent Freak, Google rejected nearly half of the DMCA takedown requests Verlander submitted.

‘The Fappening 4′: Nina Dobrev Among Other Celebrity Nudes Leaked Online, Including First Male

In part four of the ongoing celebrity nude photo leak, The Fappening, hackers have released the fourth wave of their wrath leaking nude photos of Victoria Secret model Erin Heatherton, actress Winona Ryder, television star AnnaLynne McCord, singer Ingrid Michaelson, actress Nina Dobrev, indie actress Zoe Kazan and their first male victim, reality star Nick Hogan (Hulk Hogans son).

The Fappening has been ongoing since late August, when hackers first leaked hacked nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco among many others. Anonymous hackers claimed to have a ‘mega list’ of 101 actresses revealing photos. The list contains numerous starlet and ‘A-list’ celebrities. The alleged ‘mega-list’ did not contain names of any males, and nude photos of Nick Hogan and his past girlfriends have allegedly been leaked online.

The fourth wave of nude celebrity photos comes after a pending lawsuit filed October 1 by Marty Singer, a powerful Hollywood lawyer that represents a number of celebrities whose iClouds were hacked and nude photos were leaked online, had been filed towards Google. Singer wrote a letter to the Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, along with executive chairman Eric Schmidt and the company’s legal counsel, threatening to sue Google for a whopping $100 million for, according to Singer, “failing to act expeditiously and responsibly to remove the images,” and for “making millions and profiting from the victimization of women.”

Singers letter continues to say Google has failed to remove the personal photos of celebrities from the search engine after dozens of DMCA removal requests to de-index the photos from the search engine were denied. Singer claims his firm has filed countless requests to “remove the unlawful images,” yet the images still appear on Google-owned websites such as YouTube and Blogger.

“Google knows that the Images are hacked stolen property, private and confidential photos and videos unlawfully obtained and posted by pervert predators who are violating the victims’ privacy rights and basic human decency by stealing and displaying confidential private photos and videos (most of which depict the women in private settings, while nude or semi-nude, engaging in private intimate conduct) without the permission of the owners of the Images,” Singer wrote in his letter. “Yet Google has taken little or no action to stop these outrageous violations, or to limit the Images from appearing in Google search results.”

While the names of the women Singer represents remains unknown, the first male celebrity nude photos have been leaked. Pro-wrestler Hulk Hogans son, Nick Hogan, has had revealing photos of himself and past girlfriends leaked online according to TMZ. The alleged photos date back to Hogans high school years and feature former girlfriends.

TMZ also reported hacked iCloud images also contain photos of Nick Hogans mom, wearing revealing clothing as well.

Nick Hogan has said the photos are fake, but is believed to be the first male targeted in the attacks. Other men have been featured in celebs leaked photos, such as celebrity Kate Upton’s husband, Justin Verlander, but Hogan is believed to be the first male victim of the targeted attack.

Just last week model Cara Delevingne, actress Anna Kendrick, and eight other well known celebrities had their hacked photos leaked online. The week before that, Kim Kardashian among many others also had their hacked nude photos leaked online.

Apple claimed hackers were able to steal celebrities nude photos due to the celebrities choosing weak passwords, not a security hole in Apples iCloud service. Apple has since added two-factor authentication too add an extra layer of security to stop future attacks. Hackers claimed to have harvested celebrities nude photos for months before leaking them online.

Apple said hackers used targeted attacks to steal the revealing images, yet it still remains unknown how many more celebrity photos the hackers have or plan to leak. The FBI is said to be investigating the celebrity photo leak matter.

Jennifer Lawrence’s Wikipedia Page Hacked Revealing Nude Photos

Jennifer Lawrence’s Wikipedia page was hacked early Tuesday, replacing Lawrence’s featured photos with nude photos of the actress leaked back in August.

The original photo that appears on Jennifer Lawrence’s Wikipedia page is a Creative Commons photo uploaded by Gage Skidmore, featuring an appearance Lawrence made at Comic Con 2013. After the hacker uploaded the leaked photos, the page returned to its normal state in less than 20 minutes.

Lawrence’s Wikipedia page is “semi-protected,” meaning to edit the page the page you have to be a registered member of Wikipedia. Lawrence’s page did have a legitimate edits made by users Wednesday, pertaining to comments the actress made to Vanity Fair regarding the hacked nude photos she had privately stolen from her.

A representative from the Wikimedia Foundation explained that at 21:52 UTC, a user uploaded the first stolen photo to the comment page that hosts the image files, keeping the same title as the original photo. The image was deleted 14 minutes later. Then at 22:12 UTC, the second stolen image was uploaded and deleted four minutes later. The account that uploaded the images was not associated with any Wikipedia editors, but was a sock puppet – a registered account made to look as though it is legitimate. To remove the stolen images posted in Lawrence’s Wikipedia page, a Wikipedia administrator deleted the comment page entirely and started it again, meaning all records of previous edits or file that existed are now completely deleted.

Earlier this year in August, Jennifer Lawrence was the target of hackers, who leaked nude photos of herself among many other starlet celebrities. The stolen celebrities revealing photos is ongoing and run under, The Fappening. Attackers hacked into celebrities iCloud accounts and harvested pictures for months prior to releasing them, allowing hackers to steal the photos from a number of well-known celebrities via a targeted attack.

Since the leak, lawyers have threatened to sue companies not involved for the ongoing leaks, among many other legal issues.

Jennifer Lawrence seems to be the largest ongoing target for hackers since the leak, and it appears hackers took to Wikipedia.

‘The Snappening': Hackers Leak 200,000 SnapChat Photos and Videos Online

The database for multiple SnapChat saving apps were allegedly hacked late Thursday afternoon. Hackers who stole the database leaked over 13GB of SnapChat photos and videos, about 200,000 images thus far.

Friday, Business Insider reported that “100,000 SnapChat photos, including underage nude pictures” were leaked by hackers claiming to have compromised SnapSave, a third party application that discreetly saves SnapChat images without the end user knowing.

The alleged SnapChat leak was released through the well known image board 4Chan. The forum readers dubbed it, ‘The Snappening,’ a sequel to, ‘The Fappening,’ the massive leak of of stolen celebrities nude photos including those of Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Kardashian among countless others.

Image boards of underground forums were hinting that something big was coming in the weeks. Thursday night, the news was revealed. A third-party SnapChat client application that logged every photo and video sent through it or years was hacked and leaked online. The massive hack rewarded hackers with 200,000 photos, accumulating to 13GB of SnapChat photos that should have been deleted.

The site that was originally hosting the files was taken offline, presumably due to it hosting nude photos of underage children and hosting illicit content. Regardless, 4Chan users downloaded the files and have begun creating a searchable database, where users can search the stolen images by a SnapChat username.

The database was originally hosted on viralpop.com, a fake competition website that installed malicious software on the computers of those taking part. As stated previously, the site has been taken offline, though thousands of users had already downloaded the collection.

Surfacing photos of the original database were posted online, the index appears to be a common threaded directory.

The Two Sites that May Have Been Hacked

Countless news reports suggest that third-party SnapChat client, SnapSave, was the first site hacked. The popular Android application allowed users to save SnapChat photos and videos, which automatically delete when viewed with the official SnapChat app.

“In a statement to Engadget, Snapsave developer Georgie Casey denied his app was to blame, saying ‘Our app had nothing to do with it and we’ve never logged username/passwords.’ He also denied that Snapsave stores photos online. This means that the hacked Snapchat client was probably a website, rather than an app,” Business Insider reported.

Business Insider was also contacted by an anonymous photo trader telling the company that the site affected was SnapSaved.com. The service acted as a desktop version or web client for the SnapChat app, allowing users to receive photos and videos through the service, also helping users save them online. Apparently users were unaware that all photos and videos passed through the service were collected, storing incriminating SnapChats on a web server, with the usernames of the senders included.

SnapSaved disappeared several months ago, the URL is offline but is said to direct to a Danish e-commerce site selling media equipment. Most of the saved stolen SnapChat photos found in the leak featured Danish in the overlaying message bar.

4Chan users also confirmed SnapSaved was the source of the stolen SnapChats.

Information on the third-party SnapChat client sites remains unclear as we don’t know if SnapSave or SnapSaved were created with the intent of intercepting the images. The case could be that hackers accessed the servers of one of the sites, which had unintentionally stored the photos, and rehosted the hacked directory online.

A SnapChat spokesperson confirmed to Business Insider that the images came from third-party sites, denying any SnapChat servers were breached:

“We can confirm that Snapchat’s servers were never breached and were not the source of these leaks. Snapchatters were victimized by their use of third-party apps to send and receive Snaps, a practice that we expressly prohibit in our Terms of Use precisely because they compromise our users’ security. We vigilantly monitor the App Store and Google Play for illegal third-party apps and have succeeded in getting many of these removed.

Many users online claim the collection of hacked SnapChat photos contain large amounts of child pornography, including photos and videos sent between teenagers, who presumably believed the photos were deleted after viewing. Reports state SnapChat’s user base are teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17.

To clarify, SnapChat was not hacked nor did the company suffer any kind of breach. The leak of these SnapChat photos comes from third-party applications and websites storing the images on the server.

Hackers Leak Nude Photos of Celebrities Daisy Lowe and Matt Smith

Part five on the ongoing, The Fappening, has struck once more, this time leaking nude photos of DOCTOR Who actress Daisy Lowe, and her ex-boyfriend Matt Smith.

Personal photos of the couples were leaked Friday, revealing personal photos the two had taken during the time of their relationship, which has since ended.

The two are the latest to fall victim to the celebrity nude leak scandal, which began in August when Jennifer Lawrence had her revealing photos leaked. Since the stolen hacked photo scandal, Lawrence has become the face of the privacy breach.

Other celebrities targeted in part five was Broadway Cinderella star KeKe Palmer, among unconfirmed others. The three named are named the most popular actors and actresses victimized in the leak.

The ongoing leaks of the stolen property has caused outrage among a multitude of communities. So much outrage powerful Hollywood lawyer, Marty Singer, filed a pending lawsuit against Google for $100 million. The reason behind the massive suit towards Google, according to Singer, is for “making millions from the victimization of women” and engaging in “blatantly unethical behavior.”

Singer represents a number of the women victimized in the leak, it is currently unknown which exact celebrities Singer represents. Many of the celebrities agree with Singers actions to file a suit against Google for not taking proper action to remove the photos from appearing in the search results.

Matt Smith is the second male that has been a direct target of the hackers. Just last week hackers targeted and leaked photos of Nick Hogan, Hulk Hogans son. Matt Smith the the second male victim of the “targeted attack.”

Leakers did not specify if this was part five or not, the leak was extremely small compared to the past four leaks. Many celebrities have had their personal privacy breached, and how many more victims photos the hackers may contain remains unknown.

The Fappening Continues: Celebrity Lindsay Clubine’s Nude Photos Leaked Online

In the massive leak of hacked celebrity nude photos known as, The Fappening, the saga continues, this time leaking nude photos of Lindsay Clubine, model and wife of Boston Red Sox star Clay Bucholz.

Clubine took her anger to Twitter Tuesday, venting about the reveling photos of her that had been posted on the web earlier in the week, calling out the hacker who accessed all celebrities nude pictures from the beginning.

From a tweet that has since been deleted, Clubine said:

“A woman should be able to send her husband pics of herself with out fear of the whole world seeing them! iCloud hackers should be ashamed!!”

— Lindsay Clubine (@LindsayClubine) October 14, 2014

Shortly after Lindsay Clubine had her hacked nude photos leaked, she spoke with TMZ regarding the incident, revealing that it appears Bucholz’s phone was targeted in the apparent hack.

Clubine told TMZ she doesn’t blame her husband for storing the photos on his phone, “Clay and I are good,” she said “I send him pictures on the road.”

In the leak of revealing photos, Clubine stressed that the apparent hardcore pictures of her leaked online are in fact not her. Photos attached to a set had her name on it, but she made it clear none contained her.

“Those are pics on his phone that [a teammate]sent some of the guys that are NOT me,” Clubine explained.

As with other celebrities victimized in The Fappening, Clubine is pursuing legal action for any person or website found sharing her personal photos on the web.

“This is a terrible crime,” Clubine added. “I have my husband’s attorneys removing the picture. This is very upsetting to my family and I.”

Lindsay Clubine is the latest victim in the string of stolen celebrity nude photos leaked on the internet. The massive leak began back in August, when Jennifer Lawrence, Kaley CuoCo, Kate Upton among countless other celebrities had their nude photos leaked online. Since August, hackers have leaked nude photos of countless A-list celebrities on a irregular basis.

Shortly after Jennifer Lawrence was victimized, Kim Kardashian had her nude photos leaked online. In the weeks to come, high-profile celebrities including Cara Delevingne, Anna Kendrick, Nina Dobrev and Daisy Lowe were found with leaked photos online. Not only were countless women victimized, two men were direct targets to the hackers as well, including Nick Hogan and Matt Smith. Other men were found featured in the female celebrity leaks, but two men were found as direct targeted victims thus far.

The Fappening has been one of the largest growing leaks of all time, listing intimate photos of prominent celebrities online. Since the leak, Jennifer Lawrence has become the face for The Fappening, appearing to be not only face, but the spokeswoman behind it. She has made few comments but appears to be the main attraction for news stories worldwide.

Claims have come forward saying the apparent The Fappening is dieing. Now only leaking photos of D-list and unknown celebrities. Such claims cannot yet be assumed to be true as hackers claimed to have over 101 high profile celebrities photos that they mined for several months. Regardless of claims, well-known celebrities are still turning up victim to the apparent hack.

Shortly after what some named the “iCloud hack,” Apple swiftly responded to the accounts. Many blamed iCloud for having several sets of vulnerabilities inside, allowing hackers to gain access. Apple revealed that celebrities iCloud vaults were hacked due to weak passwords, nothing related to the widely popular cloud service. This prompted Apple to finally implement two-factor authentication into iCloud. Apple added additional security due to the countless demand after celebrities were found victimized.

This did not stop hackers, as they had mined the photos for months prior, reaping large amounts of photos from unknowing actresses.

The FBI is said to be investigating the hack, helping victimized celebrities crack down on the anonymous hackers behind the attack.

Not only did the Fappening prompt Apple and the FBI to respond, but also brought a lawsuit upon Google. Google? That is correct, powerful Hollywood lawyer Marty Singer claims Google is profiting “from the victimization of women,” threatening to sue to number one site in the world for $100 million.

What else hackers may have in store remains unclear as the leaks appear to turn up at unknown times. The hacker/s behind the attack also remains unknown. Currently there are no public leads to any identities that may been involved the leak.

In part six of the ongoing, The Fappening, the leaking of stolen celebrities nude photos, the latest set of photos has just hit the Internet, leaking nude photos of five prominent celebrities.

The Fappening 6 photo leaks contains nude photos of celebrities Nicola Peltz, known for her roles as voice actress in The Last Airbender, Bradley Martin of the A&E series Bates Motel, as well as Tessa Yeager in Transformers: Age of Extinction. The Fappening part six also contains nude photos of actress and musician Krysten Ritter, and American actress, musician and former model Jane Moargolis, known for her role in Breaking Bad, and Chloe in the Apartment 23 comedy.

The leaked photo set also includes American Idol finalist Angie Miller and Aubrey Cleland, as well as Dallas Cowboys cheerleader veteran Tobie Percival.

In what was thought the be the dead leak of celebs photos, the iCloud leaks have once again revived. The Fappening was thought to be dead as the later Fappening sets contained D-list celebrities and had stopped following the timely one week frame. It appears the Fappening is not dead, leaking photos of prominent celebrities such as Nicola Peltz.

The Fappening began back in August when nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco among many other celebrities surfaced online. Shortly following was a wave of celebrities leaks coming in short weekly spans.

Leaking nude photos of Kim Kardashian in the hackers next set, then in the third set following Cara Delevingne, and Anna Kendrick, then making headlines with part four containing Nina Dobrev and their first male celebrity Nick Hogan.

Follow four prominent leaks The Fappening was though to have died out. What was thought to have targeted 101 celebrities iCloud was dieing only after a few weeks. Later came nude photos of Daisy Lowe and Matt Smith, then the last leak before part six of the Fappening was Linsday Clubine.

Shortly after the initial iCloud leaks, Apple posted a statement regarding the leak of celebrity photos, saying celebs iCloud vaults were hacked due to weak passwords, not a vulnerability in the service.

The massive leak of celebrity photos brought Google a $100 million dollar lawsuit from Hollywood lawyer, Marty Singer, claiming Google was making millions from the victimized actresses.

The FBI is said to be investigating the ongoing The Fappening leaks, searching for the hacker/s.

The Fappening Continues Leaking Nude Photos of Sarah Shahi Among Others

In the leaking of nude celebrities photos dubbed, The Fappening, which began 4 months ago back in August, hackers have once again leaked nude photos of more prominent celebrities.

The leak came exactly as promised over Halloween-weekend, Saturday, leaking nude photos of Sarah Shahi. Shahi had fallen victim to The Fappening in past leaks, yet has had more photos leaked.

Though Reddit users claim the most recent leak also contain nude photos of Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders Holly Arielle and Tobi Percival, Carly Pope, supermodel Hannah Davis, Kelly Felthouse, and Kelsey Voglesang. This Fappening set comes just one week after the massive The Fappening 6, which contained nude photos of Nicola Peltz, Angie Miller, Krysten Ritter, Tobie Percival and Aubrey Cleland.

The latest nude photo celebrity hack is also speculated to contain more revealing photos of Jennifer Lawrence, which The Fappening originally began with.

In what was thought to be the end of the celebrity leaks, hackers have revamped their latest operations, again, leaking photos of top A-list celebrities. Back in October claims that The Fappening was dieing had surfaced, claiming the leaks were no longer routine and the latest sets contained photos of unknown D-list celebrities.

In the past two stolen celebrity photo leaks, sets contain photos of prominent A-list celebrities, including those of Daisy Lowe, Nicole Peltz among countless others.

The Fappening began back in August when hackers first leaked nude photos of Jennifer Lawerence, Kate Upton, Kaley Cuoco among countless others. Since the initial leak, hackers have posted stolen nude photos of Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevingne, Anna Kendrick, Nina Dobrev alongside two males.

Jennifer Lawerence has become the face of The Fappening, due to her status and large number of photos stolen and leaked online.

The leak was reported to have come from celebrities iCloud and cloud storage accounts. Hackers were said to have harvested photos of celebrities for at least eight months, meaning hackers launched targeted attacks, reaping hundreds of photos of numerous celebrities months prior. Keeping quite on the matter, hackers finally took to light with the massive amount of photos they stole, and leak stolen photos nearly every week.

Due to iCloud being the main target, Apple did their own investigation and found celebrities iCloud vaults were hacked due to weak passwords, not a vulnerability in the service.

Apple has since added two-factor authentication due to the high demand and added security benefits since the leak of stolen photos.

The FBI is said to be investigating The Fappening matter looking to identify the hackers. Identities of who the hackers may be remains unknown, and federal authorities have not made public claims to have any leads of possible identities of the leakers.

How many more nude celebrity photos the hackers may have remains unknown.

A group of hackers have released a set of 24 images of the 35-year-old American actress, Kelly Brook, in another celebrity nude photo leak.

Twenty-four private images of Kelly Brook, have been leaked online by an unknown group of hackers. Kelly Brook, who is currently starring the U.S. sitcom ‘One Big Happy’, has had a set of her explicit photos leaked online without her permission.

This is not the first time Kelly Brook has fallen victim to hackers and had to deal with a nude photos leak. Back in October, Kelly Brook had fallen victim to The Fappening/iCloud leaks, which led to a barrage of A-list celebrities most intimate photos being leaked on the Internet, affecting prominent celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Kardashian and even Kate Upton.

If the latest Kelly Brook nude photos are not photoshopped, this could be Brook’s second time her private photos have been hacked and posted online without her permission or on accident.

Back near the end of October, Brook’s had a set of 34 private images leaked online, including photos of Brook in various poses while appearing topless among other poses in bikinis and underwear. The latest Kelly Brook’s leak could be far more explicit. Hackers who have published the latest Kelly Brook’s nude photos online show Brook’s in various poses appearing fully nude, including one with the brunette posing in her bed with her bottom in the air.

The latest leak includes images with Brook’s ex-fiance, David McIntosh, leaking intimate photos of Brook’s cuddling with him.

Kelly Brook’s had denied her nude photos had been leaked in the earlier iCloud leak, stating in a tweet at the time, “The only nude photos you’ll see of me are the ones that I leak and the ones my head is superimposed on!” Meanwhile, the actress has refused to comment on the latest alleged leaks of her intimate photos.

The images are said to be circulating on file sharing and popular torrent websites.

The Fappening: FBI Raids Hacker Linked to Massive Celebrity Photo Leak

Federal agents raided a Chicago home Tuesday, seizing several computers belonging to a hacker believed to be linked to the massive nude celebrity photo leak, which led to nearly 100 actresses private photos begin leaked online for several months.

The Fappening is what they called it when Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Upton, Kim Kardashian, Cara Delevingne, Anna Kendrick, and nearly a hundred others had their nude photos leaked online.

The unknown hacker randomly began leaking the explicit photos on 4Chan and Reddit, where the hacker claimed to have hijacked celebrities iCloud accounts for months prior, harvesting hundreds of photos of the celebrities.

No arrests have been made in regards to the FBI raid, but someone in the Chicago home is believed to have used a computer to steal “nude and sexually explicit photographs of dozens of female celebrities,” Special Agent, Josh Sedowsky, apart of the FBI CyberCrime Unit said in his affidavit to obtain a search warrant for the house.

According to Sedowsky, an IP address traced to Jesus Herrera “was used to access approximately 572 unique iCloud accounts,” between May 2013 to August 2014. The IP traced was used for 4,980 attacks against accounts using over 1,987 different passwords. “In total, the unique iCloud accounts were accessed 3,263 times,” the document read.

Some of the actresses targeted in Herrera’s attacks were locked out of their iCloud accounts for a short period of time before their photos were stolen, as Herrera would hack into the account and change the password.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) believes people living in the Chicago home had access to celebrities’ emails and cloud storage accounts for several months prior to the leak. Two others, Carmen Herrera and Martin Herrera are also believed to live in the home, Sedowsky said.

In the legal complaint, victimized actresses were based on initials such as A.S., C.H., H.S., A.K. among others. Which could mean Abigail Spencer, Christina Hendricks, Hope Solo, and Anna Kendrick. Presumably for the privacy of those who were affected.

In a Chicago Sun-Times article, reporters got a hold of an affidavit currently under seal, referring to the initials J.L., which is believed to be Jennifer Lawrence.

In the file, it reports Lawrence got so distraught during an FBI interview on her leaked photos, agents had to stop mid-way through the interview.

Hacked accounts involved mostly actresses the FBI said, but other accounts Herrera’s IP accessed “were accounts of celebrities, models or their friends and families,” the FBI reported.

According to interviews from the FBI, some affected actresses recall getting locked out of their accounts for a short period of time prior to the leaks coming out.

Apple’s iCloud investigation concluded actresses accounts had been accessed due to weak passwords and phishing attempts. Actresses were told to follow instructions and reset their password, leading the FBI to conclude that hackers gained access to their accounts through phishing emails, tricking the victims into sending the hacker their information.

FBI Raids Another Suspected Hacker Responsible for The Fappening Leaks

In the summer of 2014, an anonymous hacker flooded the Internet with the private nude photos of dozens of major celebrities, including Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Kardashian, Kate Upton, Cara Delevingne and dozens of others. Now, nearly 2 years later and authorities believe they’ve identified the hacker, yet no one is facing charges.

The amass of nude pictures leaked online, dubbed The Fappening, was the result of a hacker who harvested the private iCloud accounts of famous A-list Hollywood celebrities. The hacker was suspected of having access to their accounts for months, harvesting dozens of private photos uploaded into the celebrities seemingly-private iCloud vault.

Who is the suspected hacker?

If you remember back in June of last year, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided the home of a Chicago man named Emilio Herrera, who was accused of using his PC to steal “nude and sexually explicit photographs of dozens of female celebrities.” However months later and Herrera has yet to face charges.

Now, two years later, court documents reveal the FBI’s latest suspect is a man named Ed Majerczyk.

In October of 2014, the FBI raided Majerczyk’s home, another Chicago man believed to be the head of the extremely coordinated Fappening attacks that targeted nearly 100 A-list celebrities.

FBI Raids Suspected iCloud Hacker

Majerczyk is suspected of illegally accessing iCloud accounts from his home in Chicago. According to the FBI, they also found various sexual photographs of Jennifer Lawrence on his PC, one of the top victims in his alleged social engineering attacks, court documents obtained by Gawker state.

How he gained access to dozens of accounts

The FBI’s latest target came up after federal agents raided their first Chicago home belonging to Emilio Herrera, an individual believed to be tied to hacking of thousands of Apple iCloud accounts, targeting more than 100 celebrity victims.

According to court documents, Majerczyk would send targets a bogus email from a series of accounts such as ‘appleprivacysecurity@gmail.com’ to create a phishing dragnet that fooled even dozens of celebrities into handing over their personal passwords.

In total, the FBI said Majerczyk accessed 330 unique iCloud accounts from his home over a total of 600 times.

Phishing for Jennifer Lawrence

Majerczyk is said to have gained access to dozens of victim’s iCloud accounts after posing as an “Apple Technical Assistant,” which resulted in the celebrities handing over access to their personal photos.

Jennifer Lawrence, a top target in the news who called the leak a “sex crime” had her iCloud account hacked from a simple phishing email. The email came from appleprivacysecurity@gmail.com, writing to Lawrence stating:

“Your Apple ID was used to login into iCloud from an unrecognized device on Wednesday, August 20th, 2014. Operating System: iOS 5.4 Location: Moscow, Russia (IP=95.108.142.138) If this was you please disregard this message. If this wasn’t you for your protection, we recommend you change your password immediately. In order to make sure it is you changing the password, we have given you a one-time passcode, 0184737, to use when resetting your password at http://applesecurity.serveuser.com/. We apologize for the inconvenience and any concerns about your privacy. Apple Privacy Protection.”

Lawrence quickly forwarded the phishing email alert to her assistant who presumably changed her password and gave the hacker direct access to her private iCloud vault.

Court documents show how Majerczyk used a number of deceptive web domains and fake security warnings to appear as authentic alerts from Apple, all to phish the accounts of popular Hollywood celebrities.

While court documents begin to unravel the ongoing Fappening saga, the entirety of the case remains shrouded in mystery. Why would a skilled hacker hijack thousands of iCloud accounts, especially those of A-list celebrities, and access them with his home IP address. Also, why is the FBI keeping the investigation so secret?

As more information becomes available, we will keep you updated.

‘The Fappening 4’: Nina Dobrev Among Other Celebrity Nudes Leaked Online, Including First Male

‘The Snappening’: Hackers Leak 200,000 SnapChat Photos and Videos Online
